Student Life

A vibrant life beyond the classroom

At Bidii, education is about the whole child. Sport, clubs, farming, the arts and community life all help our students grow into confident, capable young people.

Life at Bidii

Every day brings something to explore

Sports & Games

Football, netball, volleyball, basketball and athletics — with qualified games tutors and participation in UMISSETA competitions.

Clubs & Societies

From science and computers to debate, mathematics, and arts & drama — every student finds a place to belong and grow.

The School Farm

Students learn responsibility, science and sustainability hands-on, tending healthy crops of vegetables on our own farm.

Boarding Life

Separate, well-supervised boarding houses for boys and girls provide a safe, friendly home away from home.

Dining & Nutrition

Wholesome, balanced meals are served daily in our dining hall — fuelling concentration, growth and good health.

Guidance & Wellbeing

A dedicated guidance and counselling unit supports every student academically, socially and personally.

Sports & Games

Healthy bodies, sharp minds

For the physical development, welfare and recreation of our students, Bidii offers a wide range of indoor and outdoor games — football, netball, volleyball, basketball, handball and athletics. Our qualified games tutors organise and coach all sporting activity, and our teams compete with pride in local and national competitions, including UMISSETA.

Every student is encouraged to take part — sport builds teamwork, discipline, resilience and lifelong friendships.

Clubs & Societies

Find your people, follow your passion

At the start of each academic year, students join clubs that organise trips, competitions, debates, panels and publications.

Computer Club

Members of the Computer Club explore programming, digital literacy and the latest developments in technology. Sessions include coding exercises, internet research projects and guided exploration of office and educational software. The club prepares students for Computer Studies examinations and for life in a digital world.

English Debating Club

The English Debating Club meets weekly to practise public speaking, argumentation and critical thinking in English. Members debate contemporary local and global issues, prepare for inter-school competitions and build the confidence to express their ideas clearly and persuasively.

Mathematics Club

The Mathematics Club goes beyond the syllabus to challenge students with puzzles, competitions and applied problem-solving. Members develop logical thinking and numerical fluency in a relaxed and enjoyable setting, often competing in regional mathematics Olympiad events.

Literature & Debate Club

This club brings together students who love reading and discussion. Members read novels, short stories and poetry from across Africa and the world, then debate themes, characters and ideas. The club also runs creative writing workshops and contributes to the school newsletter.

Arts & Drama Club

The Arts & Drama Club welcomes students who love creative expression — whether through visual art, drawing, craft, performance or stagecraft. The club produces at least one major performance each year and contributes artwork to school events, exhibitions and publications.

Sports Club

The Sports Club coordinates all competitive and recreational sport at Bidii Schools, including football, netball, volleyball, basketball and athletics. Under the guidance of qualified games tutors, members train regularly and represent the school in UMISSETA inter-school competitions at district and regional level.

Science Club

The Science Club gives curious students the chance to conduct experiments, build projects and explore scientific ideas beyond the classroom syllabus. Activities range from chemistry demonstrations and biology field surveys to building electronic circuits with STEM kits. The club fosters the analytical thinking and love of discovery that science requires.

The School Farm

Learning that grows — literally

Our productive school farm is an outdoor classroom. Students take part in growing healthy crops of vegetables, learning practical science, responsibility, sustainability and the dignity of hard work — values at the very heart of our motto, Juhudi, Bidii na Maarifa.
