Building Strong Foundations for Every Child
Life in our Primary
About the Primary School
Our Primary School spans Standard I through Standard VII, welcoming children from approximately age 6 to 13. We follow the Tanzanian national curriculum with English as the primary medium of instruction, supported by Kiswahili to ensure every child is at ease in the classroom.
Class sizes average around 40 pupils, and our dedicated class teachers are supported by specialist staff in subjects such as Science, Mathematics and Physical Education. We believe the best learning happens when children are active participants — through experiments, group work, creative projects and time on the school farm.
Our Approach
Teaching at Bidii Primary is child-centred, individualised and resource-based. We use a wide variety of learning materials, from hands-on STEM kits and science apparatus to the school library's well-stocked shelves. Regular agricultural activities on the school farm connect classroom learning to real-world practice and instil an appreciation for responsible stewardship of the environment.
- Structured literacy and numeracy in the early standards
- Science experiments and practical investigations from Standard IV
- Regular use of the school farm to teach biology, nutrition and responsibility
- Library lessons and independent reading time every week
- Physical Education including football, netball and athletics
- Preparation for the Standard VII National Examinations (PSLE)
